Where it is

The Casablanca Valley is in the Valparaíso region, about 60 km west of Santiago on the road to the coast. Vines began to be planted there in the 1980s.

Land and climate

Coastal fog and cool breezes keep it cool, and frost can be a problem in spring. Soils are granite-based clay and sand.

Grapes and wines

Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are the mainstay, with Pinot Noir and cool-climate Syrah. The wines are fresh, with good acidity.
