Where it is

The Aconcagua Valley is about 100 km north of Santiago, with the Aconcagua river running from the Andes to the sea at Concón. The Aconcagua Costa sub-area lies near the coast, and the Panquehue area is inland.

Land and climate

The inland valley is warm and dry. The coastal part is much cooler, because of the Pacific and the Humboldt current.

Grapes and wines

Red Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the inland areas and Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the coast.
